The Department of Media & Entertainment is where technology, theory, and practice meet to create innovative and professional content for consumers. Our department offers courses across the broad media and entertainment landscape, including social media, video and film, media design, advertising, radio/podcasting and sound engineering, public relations, multimedia journalism, sports media, event production, talent management, and media and entertainment business. We are proud to offer a pragmatic and professional approach to higher education through our course offerings and professional opportunities.
Our Bachelor of Science degree and interdisciplinary Spanish Language Media & Entertainment Bachelor of Arts degree is designed to prepare you for a successful career in the multi-billion dollar media and entertainment industry or in any profession where you find media content. Our 18-credit minor and certificate offer a great opportunity for you to enhance your current program of study or upskill yourself with our series of media design and production essentials courses. If you’re interested in graduate study, our program will give you the necessary skills to be successful in your advanced studies as well.
We offer a collaborative student-faculty educational experience where you’ll work with faculty who have professional experience in their fields. Our professional media outlets under SOCO Student Media – The Today online, The Today Magazine, Rev 89.5, SOCO Design, and Digital Sandbox – are advised by faculty with advanced students in leadership roles. By the end of your educational career, your professional portfolio will demonstrate your ability to create and manage professional, effective, and creative content for a variety of audiences.

"My name is Ye Charlotte Ming, from Qingdao, China. I graduated from CSU Pueblo's Department of Media & Entertainment in 2012 and received my master's degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in 2014. I am currently based in New York, where I work as a content editor for Getty Images, the world's largest photo agency. I am also a frequent contributor to National Geographic, TIME.com, Chinafile.com and the Chinese-language news site Tencent. My writing and photography focus on telling complex social issues through human stories. CSU Pueblo is where my passion for journalism began, and the skills I learned there will always stay with me for the rest of my career."
